Changed Description:
When logging in to the Snapshot server, if you press "Cancel" while it's at the "Logging in..." phase, a NullPointerException will be thrown.
Steps to recreate;
1. Join a snapshot server
2. While "Logging in..." press cancelCrash Log: http://pastebin.com/UVYG9rXH
The server did not crash, so not crash report could have been provided. The issue is that on server list ping & server join, there is that Netty error and you are unable to join or view the ping statistics. (No crash report required.)
This should be fixed, before final release. It makes taking down servers a walk in the park
This may have been fixed by my other issue - https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-34705
It appears to be fixed for me, so it may have been related to it.
The method which I used to reproduce no longer works for me, please expand on how you know this is not fixed in 13w41b.
