The Solution given there does not work. Please read this over. So no, this is not resolved.
The IP is my SRV record. mc.domain.com. When i use just the IP + port it works fine. With SRV record, it sometimes tries to connect to mc.domain.com:25565
Minecraft supports SRV records, it should be connecting to something other then 25565
