As has already been mentioned: If you enter the IPv6 address manually into the server dialog, you can connect over IPv6 with your Minecraft server. I've tested it with 1.8.8 and 1.8.9. So this could maybe a workaround. I've not tested it with DS Light. Minecraft itself seems to run smoothly over IPv6. I had no disconnections, lags or other problems.
