This is a very strange bug and I have no idea why it happens.
When I press the button the dispenser at the bottom fires, but when I press it again then it does not until I replace the redstone in front of it. This only happens when it`s facing north.

Sometimes Dispensers and Droppers only
This is a very strange bug and I have no idea why it happens.
Sometimes Dispensers and Droppers only fire when they receive a Block Update.
The Setup shown in the picture worked every time I built it.

I was playing survival when a saw this skeleton not moving and not burning in sunlight. After the first hit I wasn´t able to hit it again with any item although I was able to shoot it also it had no knockback.

when you press the button it fires one time, but when you press it again it doesn't, so this is another bug. Also the dispenser is directly powered.
The same thing was happening to me but the whole launcher was gliched not just the bottom.
The workaround fixed it, thanks.
Also I am using Windows 7, Java 8 and AMD Radeon HD 7700

There is a change that can be made to the text shader that remedies this issue.
You can check out the code here. It is based on this video which goes into the details of how it works.
Note that this algorithm requires bilinear filtering to be enabled in the TextureStateShard for the "text" RenderType.
