I have this same problem, its annoying because i want them to press a button to get the items shown and for it to be reusable.
Still, it's adventure mode. You shouldn't be able to break or place blocks, so technically it's a bug.

I also just encountered this problem. I was afking in the nether in the realm and was kicked for idling. when I tried to reconnect, I got the 429 error. Resetting internet connection didn't work, and duplicating the installation did not work either.
