new launcher isunable to start game if run with optirun (discrete nvidia card)
While I was writing the bug report I found a workaround. I choose to report it anyway as it uses a rather obscure prime-select tool that I never knew about it even though I used optirun for years.
I had already played a few times on this setup using optirun to trigger the discrete card. Now it doesn't work anymore and I don't know what changed. Without optirun it runs fine on Intel but it's way slower.
If I try to run minecraft through optirun in either launchers (latest or 1.6 jar version) I get the following error, before the game window shows up:17:44:23.692 Checking installations. 17:44:23.693 Minecraft client 1.14.4 is ready to start. 17:44:23.693 Starting! 17:44:23.693 Nothing to download! 17:44:23.693 Extracting 7 files! 17:44:23.717 Using default game log configuration client-1.12.xml (outputs XML) 17:44:23.717 Installing versions! 17:44:25.837 Setting user: rber 17:44:32.047 LWJGL Version: 3.2.2 build 10 17:44:33.001 X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major opcode of failed request: 72 (X_PutImage) Serial number of failed request: 46 Current serial number in output stream: 54 17:44:33.001 Process crashed with exit code 1The workaround I found was to explicitly select the nvidia card through the "prime-select" tool. I just ran prime-select nvidia and the game was able to run again.
I'll say again that prime-select is an obscure tool I've never heard of, and I would love If I'm able to help making the game work out of the box in opensuse even in laptops with two graphic cards

This has just happened to me, except there was no minecart and it was a donkey. I'm still mourning I guess and I feel so childish.
It suffocated to the obsidian of the portal.
It looks to me that this issue with the portal is more likely when the portal is not above ground level, instead it has one block height below ground, so that you can walk into it without jumping.
Edit: This may be another instance of the same bug that causes
MC-92729andMC-9568, since those issues have been reopened.I should have opened a issue, didn't I?
This happens as well with horses that come from nether portal.
Shoud I create an issue?
I think it already exists and is closed:
https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-13734?focusedCommentId=449442&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-449442
I'm commenting here as well since
MC-13734is already resolvedPlease close this bug.
The issue was solved after cleaning up dependencies left after removal of intel opensource driver xf86-video-intel: It removed the libvdpau_va_gl1, libvulkan_intel and libXvMC1 packages and now optirun runs minecraft on the discrete card without any further tweaking
Sorry to bother here with OS issues, but somehow it affected only minecraft or java so it seemed the right choice
I was about to create an issue but then I found this report that is quite similar to one I'd write. Since the issue looks quite dead I'll add here a few lines here, further describing the issue and why I think it's a bug on the skel's behavior, or at least it behaves as one:
MC-131067,MC-131067... where are the others? =P there are more, I opened so many issues I can't find themCurrently they are able to swim, though people say otherwise; When they swim they keep up their height somewhat; But they stop doing so when the player is not close enough or when he is right above them.
Instead of shooting arrows that will never reach the target, they could swim next to the player and then shoot. But even when standing still, preferably they should only shoot when the player comes into actual range, that is, underwater range.
I've sent a bunch of screenshots to enable people to see what's being described a bit better without need to trying to reproduce. But if you try, you will not fail to get it. Though the youtube video linked by the OP shows it in quite detail
Also, it is not clear to me if it's intended behavior that the skeletons shoots arrows underwater, as I've seen references saying it is supposed to use melee attacks. One of them is here
MCPE-39888. Can someone clarify that too?
