The piston still works even if you remove the redstone block here ae the steps on how to replicate it. 1. place two pistons on top of each other 2. place a redstone block on top of the two pistons 3. wreck the piston directly under the redstone block 4. wreck the redstone block (see attached pictures to see visually). Note: playing on fabric and havent gotten around to doing it on Vanila. warning if you place any blocks around the piston when it is in the glitched state it will un-glitch.
