Yes, the issue is still happening. I experienced it yesterday evening. A workaround that I eventually figured out is to configure the Elite controller so that the R2 button does not use "hair-trigger" behavior (see original bug description).
Steps to Reproduce:
Log into an XBox One X using an XBox One Elite (series 1) controller with its most recent firmware.
Configure the controller from #1 so that the R2 button uses a bumper-like short stroke instead of the usual long stroke. (There is a physical switch that does this on the back of the controller just behind the R2 button and beside the battery cover.)
