I am having the same problem. Sometimes it will save little changes, but I played for an hour and added lots of chests and items in them and I got off, by pausing and saving the game and going back to main screen and when I got back on none of my chests and my house was gone! Also lots of the edits I made to the terrain were gone too. What's making it not save the changes to the world. REALLY needs to be fixed....

I am having the same problems, I tested your door and gate thing, and it dose that to me too. It really needs fixed. My game don't save anything at all. My house, my hour of mining. When I mine, get off and back on, all the terrain is back to the way it was and my materials are gone. This also happens with chests and the things inside. Also my inventory changes back to empty. I am on iOS 6.0.1 iPad mini.
