Also experiencing the same issue, with Razer Kraken TE headphones. Does seem like it might be a driver issue.
Turning off THX spatial in the Razer Synapse app did not fix the issue.
It seems that the workaround is to go to the Windows sound settings and turn off 'Audio Enhancements'.
