If the server wouldn't be updated, the game would show it and say "Outdated server" when joining. In fact, the server I use IS updated and I can join when it appears after removing it.

Still appears up to 0.14.2. But I noticed something new: I can minimize window and server will appear, but, anyway, it will now slowly appear after some time.

It's not a bug.
You will starve to 1HP. You can starve to death only in hardcore mode (which is not implemented in MCPE).

Check your difficulty level.
It is still an issue. They also seem to completely ignore their spawn rules, ghasts should not spawn without sufficient space or close to each other, but they do.
Still happens in 1.17.10. Thanks to this bug ender pearl teleporters are basically useless.
