So i updated my minecraft launcher today and saw that java was unavalible on mac and linux which i think is a bug or microsoft is not letting us play
Update: it was fixed u need to re open your launcher
so when i was downloading the latest snapshot it said unable to connect to mi
crosoft services.so when i was downloading the latest snapshot it said unable to connect to minecraft services.
When downloading a snapshot or a version it says it cannot connect to microsoft networkWhen downloading a snapshot or a version it says it cannot connect to minecraft network.
so when i was downloading the latest snapshot it said unable to connect to minecraft services.
if ur on mac u can reproduce it by downloading a version or snapshot.
doesnt break the launcher after it downloads takes around 10-15 seconds to "connect back".
So as i said in the title it goes black after a period of time, you can replicate it if u leave minecraft launcher in the background for atleast 1 day without interaction, also what could help is keeping your mac on and just using lock screen (pressing power button on macs with touch id) to keep your mac on. I dont have a screenshot right now but will provide when it happens.
a fix is to reopen your launcher.

it has been solved i needed to reopen minecraft launcher
i had a bug like this too with custom versions of minecraft like sigma here (yes ik its cheats) just try to close and open the launcher and launch it without internet it wont try to download and also remove -noverify if u have it in the launch commands
I dont have the launcher_log right now because it didnt die
After restarting it works perfectly fine
I have Macos Sonoma 14.4 but it goes all the way back to Macos 10.5 catalina
I cannot download and use W10/11 or legacy launcher because of macos
the game starts normally and it goes back to normal after a few seconds of it completing the download
i dont need to reinstall the launcher
