Also happens when coming back to the overworld from the nether. Happens more frequently when I'm playing with my friend on my world. Everything being dark except the block my torches are on. And sometimes everything is brighter which is weird.
Thanks for the quick reply. I feel dumb now haha. I had it working on 1.14.60.. and was wondering why it wasn't working in 1.16.0.61.. and you just pointed it out. Thanks, guess it's working as intended.

Having the same issue on Xbox one. Was playing fine right after launch this morning, but now my gf and I can't connect to each other.
