Since November, I have had this weird and trippy graphic bug where an inch of the surrounding desktop for the main launcher window gets attached to it like a border. It also causes the drop shadow my desktop environment adds to every window to become really thick and dark for just the main launcher window.
Screenshot included as an attachment, there are no errors from minecraft-launcher in a terminal and this error does not extend to Minecraft or any other child windows the launcher uses such as the log output window.
In case you were going to ask me: yes, this also happens in the beta version, I just chose the stable version Because it is what I had installed at the time of this bug report.
elementaryOS 5.1 "Hera"
elementaryOS 5.1 "Hera"
AMDGPU-PRO 19.30

Affects me on elementary OS 5.0 "Juno", which uses Gala as its window manager. I also have an AMD R9 380, so I'm betting this is solely a LWJGL 3.2.1 problem and not caused by KDE.
Anybody have a workaround? I tried MultiMC, but it seems to have a problem switching LWJGL versions for 1.14.
This bug has resurfaced for me in 1.14.4 as well. I'm using Pantheon, which, again, is what elementaryOS 5.0 "Juno" uses as a desktop environment. This bug was not present while playing 1.14.3 through the official launcher, so there must have been a regression at some point during development of 1.14.4.
A workaround for me is to play it fullscreen, but Pantheon gives a fullscreen window a new set of workspaces, which makes multi-tasking to access wikis or my music player really obnoxious.
I have added the graphics driver I am using. It is the proprietary one offered by AMD for newer GPUs on Linux.
Still having this issue with the current stable and beta versions of the launcher in elementaryOS 5.1.5 with AMDGPU 20.10 drivers.
