Must log out before able to log in when starting the Minecraft Launcher if you have previously logged in.
Affects version 1.0 pre-release, but that option was not available as an affected version. 0.9.5 is not affected.
What I expected to happen was...:
Start Launcher, enter password, playWhat actually happened was...:
Start Launcher, log out, enter password, playSteps to Reproduce:
1. If fresh installation, run launcher, log in and press play. Quit minecraft and launcher
2. Start Launcher
3. Username is shown, but only options are log out or play offline. Does not ask for password.

This issue is not concerned with saving passwords. At no point in the steps to reproduce is the password saved, nor is the option to save passwords changed from default values. This issue did not occur in 0.9.5, and can be reproduced after deleting %appdata%\.minecraft entirely.
Duplicated on fresh Ubuntu 13.4 installation.
