Turtles can't always find a suitable place to lay eggs
The bug
When feeding two turtles by a beach in order to get them to lay eggs, if there's a lot of grass blocks around, they seem to continue searching for a suitable place to lay eggs without finding place to do so.
These turtles were naturally generated. I've enclosed a screen shot with the coordinates and the level.dat
file.

Noticed similar problem, I attempted to pen mine in a 15x15 pond (2 high walls surrounding are grass blocks) with a 9x9 sand island in the middle. After breeding, turtles attempt to climb dirt walls. Attempted to breed in water and on sand.
Sometimes you need to help the turtles by placing sand.
I did a small fix for it though so they will be able to find a good lay egg position more often without help.
Ok, Thanks Agnes!
