Is this in a singleplayer world? If it's on an old server from before 1.13 but still supports 1.13+ players to join, their plugin to allow multiple versions may not be made properly.

Comment on chests: It's now possibly to place 2 chests next to each other, as long as their front doesn't align. (example: one pointing west, and one point north.)
