Could you turn hitboxes on and upload a screenshot?
Added new pic with hitboxes turned on
From what I can see, the villager's hotbox is partially over the trapdoor hinge.
Is the villager supposed to remain stuck to the hinge?
I believe it is intended that villagers don't pathfind (and therefore don't move) when in a 1-block space that they cannot escape as to reduce lag
Right, but now the villager remains stuck on the hinge indefinitely. To do the same thing that a trapdoor would have done, I need to use a sticky piston to remove a block beneath to have the villager fall through. That's a simple enough workaround, but the trapdoor has now become useless in this scenario. I understand the response, "it's a feature, not a bug," but I have to politely mark my disappointment with the results.
What did you expect to happen?
I expected the villagers not to become tied to the trapdoor hinge.
You expected an entity to fall through the trapdoor, despite it standing on the solid part of the trapdoor?
Seems intended to me...
the issue can be closed, it's not a bug
