MC-71880was resolved by a mod without a source back in the day, and it's a really simple fix (currently it checks if next to any wall, just add "or next to a fence gate with the in_wall state set to true" condition).Resolved as a duplicate of
MC-71880. In my opinion what user-f2760 is proposing would be a feature request, that would also have severe performance implications in the worst case.Fence gates directly adjacent next to walls always shift down. I'd consider the question whether that should extend for more than a block a feature request.
