Minecraft has transparency with the Desktop
Most of the screen has transparency. This occurs under both the JVM from Oracles website and OpenJDK.
When run under i3 (a tiling WM), the screen is fine; there are no faded regions. I did not test under Unity or KDE.
Environment
OS: Linux (Arch/Fedora Rawhide)
Java: Openjdk and Oracle
Openjdk:
java version "1.7.0_45"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (fedora-2.4.3.1.fc21-x86_64 u45-b15)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.45-b08, mixed mode)
Oracle:
java version "1.7.0_51"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_51-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode)
Xorg Server: 1.15
Desktop Environment: Gnome Shell (3.10, 3.11)

Here is the crash report.
Here is mine (crash-2014-01-18_10.16.13-client.txt)
I report the Same bug (for a week me may be now).
OS : Arch linux, with: jre7-openjdk 7.u45 and jre7-openjdk 7.u51.
Intel Sandy bridge, with MESA 10 drivers and GNOME 3.10
(Manage to play with lunching a black terminal below minecraft. It look's like composants of picture are "adding" with the desktop)
Both crash reports show
-> Broken driver.
Cannot reproduce
Here's mine.
OS: Gentoo Linux 3.12.13-gentoo x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
All crash reports show
Probably an issue with the Mesa driver.
This bug is crucial for me. I cannot play minecraft anymore. Any estimation if this bug is going to be solved? I cannot downgrade my graphics.
Also, should I report this bug to MESA too? I cannot find if this bug is related to OpenGL, MESA or Minecraft. A little help will be much appreciated.
The issue pertains either to your graphics driver, your desktop manager, the LWJGL libraries Minecraft uses, or a combination of these.
@Fernando Mumbach:
It has been reported to Mesa developers. They are looking into it now. See the following link:
