MC-4656House destroyed while on mission
So I left my house one fine minecraft morning and went on a mission to mine resources. I was on single player (and my world was not open to LAN). So while on the mission there was a giant puff of smoke around me like an explosion but nothing was there and and I didn't get hurt so I guessed a bug. Later on when I arrived at my house is was in shambles. One giant hole in the ground and there were pieces of the roof and walls just hanging in the air. Luckily my chest wasn't destroyed.

I am running OSX 10.8.2 and java version 6 I believe.

Looks like you got some mods installed. It may have something to do with the mods you have.
Your Minecraft is modded.
This site is only for Vanilla Minecraft.
The only mod I have is rei's minimap. That only adds a map in the top right corner. I don't think it can affect anything.

I don't have a custom world genorator I downloaded this map from youalwayswin. YTou can see their videos of this map on youtube.
And no there is not any tnt in the house that was triggered
Were you playing in Single player or multi player?
I said in the description I was playing on singleplayer and LAN was off.

Did you have a fireplace in it? Maybe it burned instead of blew up and you might have heard a Creeper.
EDIT: Glass has a really low Blast Resistance and it looks as if all of it is still there. Your house probably caught fire.
That is a thought. There was a small fireplace about 8 blocks away from the house but there were no trees around. the fire. Nor above it. Can a pig transfer the fire to a block? No fireplace in the house though.
I didn't hear a creeper because my sound was off. (In the picture I had turned it back on). But I saw puffs of smoke all around me while I was away. It was night but the island I was on was fully lit.
This does indeed look like fire damage.
FYI: Grass can transfer fire.
Really? I didn't know that. But explain the smoke. I sure can't. I guess I will have to just re-download the world.
