Id like to attach some screenshots, but it doesn't work.
They only grimas when they are hurt by something (mob/fire/cacti/falling etc). Otherwise they always look 'normal'. Did you accidentally drop the ones you spawned?
No, I didn't drop them. They continuously looked hostile when I spawned them. They also didn't land on or touch any harmful item (Ex. Rain, cacti, fire).
The screenshot above is one that is not hostile. It is also bugged as it fell through a block as a bug.
