When you give a banner a border and go over it in your inventory, it reads:
"[INSERT COLOR] Bordure"
I'm fairly sure this is not the right way to spell Border.

Well, it is French for border.
Is it? I didn't know that. However, I'm playing in English, so it is a foreign spelling to me.
Looks like this is actually an intended name.
