I have experienced this issue too.
I have the same issue. Sometimes Skeletons appear without weapons. I even saw a skeleton with Chainmail armour?

Skeletons with armor is not a bug as of 1.4.1 update, they spawn commonly with some form of armor.
But when they pick up swords and shoot arrows out of them XD!!! I think thats a little bug.
I wouldn't consider this a minor problem really though, I think its something that needs fixed before the release.
Humz not so trivial to change sadly ;(
maybe disable the script for overworld skeletons to pick up weapons?
that way it erases the bug until you guys have more time to work on it?
how about that skeletons actually always hold the bow item when they spawn so they can't pick up any further items?
They always spawn with bows. It's a feature that they can sometimes learn to pick up other items & weapons.
I don't disagree with the idea of a skeleton picking up a sword. I disagree with the idea of a skeleton shooting arrows out of that sword.
That was funny! It happened to one of my friends once.
