Complete end portal is recreated when EnderDragon dies
The bug
When the EnderDragon dies the game creates the complete portal including the torches, the endstone below it and the bedrock again. This means that the game provides in total 8 torches and additional 16 endstone. It would probably be enough if it just places the actual end_portal blocks.
How to reproduce
- Go to the end
- Destroy the portal
- Kill the EnderDragon
The complete portal will become recreated

Not really a bug, is it?
You can get 4 additional torches and I don't see any reason why it should create the whole portal as unless a player in creative mode destroyed it, it should be still there
If you defeat the dragon you've earned those torches. If you play in survival you won't notice the portal being recreated.
These 4 torches seem to be a little too valuable price but unless most of the players don't know about that they won't even notice it.
So I guess you can close this report.
It looks like now in 18w05a (and maybe also before) you will notice it because when you respawn the dragon or kill it while there are already all 4 torches, 2 of them will drop and lay in the portal (when respawning the dragon) respectively will be at the world spawn (when killing the dragon).
You can create a separate ticket for the inconsistent dropping behavior if you want.
