MCD-1756Cannot play online due to age restriction - PS4
Hi, I bought the game for my 9 year old son today on the PS4 and while I can start an online game with no issues via my profile, if we try to do the same whilst logged in via my son's profile, we immediately get a message stating "Privilege Error - Cannot play due to age restrictions"??
He can start a new offline game and play in co-op mode but the game won't let him play online.
I have disabled all parental controls but he is still unable to play online.
When I bought the game I noticed that it was a "PEGI 7" but saw absolutely no mention of any additional age restrictions for playing online.
Please could you advise?

MCD-1756 was wrongly linked to this and closed. Minecraft Dungeons multiplayer on PS4 has no connection in settings or anywhere else to any Microsoft Accounts yet you are claiming this problem is fixed by changing our children's Parental Control settings on an unlinked and unrelated XBox Live Account.
Can you please re-open MCD-1756 until you have been able to resolve the issue? I know of at least 5-6 of us with children who can't play together on PS4 because of this Privilege Error problem. Local play is fine, single player is fine, multiplayer hasn't worked since it was launched for any of us.
The issue reported under MCD-1756, has not been resolved for PlayStation 4.
It has been closed as a duplicate, but the duplicate ticket gives a solution for xbox users.
I can confirm that on my child's PlayStation 4 account, they cannot login no matter what I set the age restriction to for their account , even making the age unrestricted has no effect.
The same age restriction error as reported under MCD-1756 is still reported.
We have exactly the same error. My son and three of his friends (All Playstation 4) tried to set up an online game and no matter who tried to set up the game, this error was as gar as they got. We've completely removed ALL restrictions of ANY type from their profiles and no change. Works fine on XBOX accounts, just not Playstation 4.
Interestingly Mojang lists one of the requirements for Online Multiplayer to work on Playstation that you don't just need a PSN account, you also needed an XBox account. WTF?! Why?! I could understand for cross-platform play but this isn't - its Playstation to Playstation.

The only thing I can even think of is that the online element requires you to be over a certain age but there is nothing of this nature anywhere as far as I can see!
I think Microsoft have tried to make Online Multiplayer for all platforms too dependent on their own platform (The never ending Microsoft vs. Sony/The World battle) and they've not bothered to fully test this aspect properly (or someone has screwed up) and now its backfired. In my opinion it's not age related at all and the error is misleading. Or it could be something that Sony was meant to do on their platform and hasn't.
On the other hand, Cross Platform play is being added in the near future (allegedly) and someone could have left code in the final release meant for this that shouldn't be there in this release. But its infuriating that it works for some and not for others.

Thanks for the reply but I have got both join multiplayer and join and create clubs enabled on my son's Xbox account and it still does not work.
Plus, we are trying to play this on the PS4 and I don't remember the game asking us to log in with his Xbox account?
Matthew, you appear to have done a bulk resolve on any issue with this error without bothering to read them properly.
You have provided a solution to XBox issues. THIS is a PlayStation 4 issue. I could understand if you had released cross platform support at launch and Minecraft Dungeons required you to login to an XBox account. This is clearly not the case as currently there is no option available to us whatsoever to link PS4 and XBox accounts in Minecraft Dungeons. Both Steve and myself are reporting a PS4 to PS4 multiplayer issue which does NOT link to an XBox account issue, unless the option to login with an XBox account is inexplicably hidden from view for us on the PS4 version of Minecraft Dungeons in which case, again, this bug report is still valid and unresolved.
Please reverse the Resolved status on this bug report. This problem is NOT resolved.
Same problem here, no way my 9 years old son can play online with his account with PS4.
Can you please reopen this ticket?
