MCD-2980Item that unlocks Creepy Crypt won't spawn on Local Coop
I was playing local coop with my niece. I was the host and my current character had already unlocked and played through creepy crypt. My niece had just started a new character. I had just noticed that, when in the camp, the person who selects the world map and available mission list affects what missions are available (ex. if I select the map, multiple maps are available, if she selects it only Creeper Forest is available). So I decide to have her select so I can help her out with her story progression. As we're playing through Creeper forest though I notice that when we make it to the crypt where the item that unlocks the Creepy Crypt is supposed to spawn the item is not there. We try multiple times but it never spawns and the bonus level cannot be unlocked for her character.

There is a percentage chance to spaen the map you need for this each time. Hold down the map button and it will tell you how many secrets there are. If it's not enough to be the right map exit back to base and repeat until you get the one you need.
Oh ok that makes sense thank you. I wish that there was some source to reference for details like this. The official guidebook doesn’t even say anything about this. Thanks again.
Is the issue solved?
Actually, I’m not so sure that is the solution. On my map, when I go to the woods it says secrets found 1/whatever indicating that I already have the scroll that unlocks the crypt. However, we’ve tried on my niece’s map many times now with no scroll spawn and I just noticed today that on her map it also says 1/whatever right as we spawn in. I think it’s just bugged.
If you are playing on your world or even better on your own on your world and it's saying you have it then it probably is bugged.
I can confirm experiencing the same issue.
We have 1 player whose save file was lost by the game that we are letting pick the map levels as we replay to get them caught up so we can continue and beat game from where that happened.
They no longer see Creepy Crypt (which they had previously unlocked). The other 3 players do have that level unlocked and playing with this player, when we find the place where Creepy Crypt scroll is found, it is not present. We are able to click on it to activate the ambush, but there is no scroll available to pick up and no way to unlock the level for the player that is picking the levels.
My niece was finally able to get the scroll. I had to have her play Creeper Woods by herself. When she spawned the map still said one secret was already found but when she got to the cave the map was there. Keep in mind, when my niece was playing with me earlier she had a PS4 account but didn’t own the game and PS4 won’t let you play the game by yourself if you don’t own it. So I had to purchase the game again for my niece so she could play it herself to fix this. Still, the scroll should have spawned when we were playing together on her map so there’s still that problem.
