When playing, all of a sudden sound stops emitting from the game. Even when the volume on my computer was at 100%.

Is it possible that your speaker / headphones got disconnected or changed?
I didn't plug anything in that would change the sound output. I had my Xbox COntroller connected only, but I don't think that would change my sound output.
Have the same problem on the menus
If possible, could you please include details about your system (RAM, CPU, GPU spec).
If you like you can run dxdiag and copy the relevant information from there. (Win+R → dxdiag) - be sure to remove any personal information, just the PC specs would be useful.
