Can't update native launcher
So I have had minecraft for years to come. I recently reset my laptop because I was having issues with it and in doing so now need to reinstall my minecraft. only issue is the file to download it does not let me update my native launcher. upon logging into the minecraft website it states I need to pay for the minecraft windows 10 when I have had it for almost 10 years now. why should I have to pay 35 bucks for a game I bought when it was 25 dollars? I should be able to download the launcher but it refuses to do let me.

Can you attach a screenshot of what it says?
I will include a screen shot. the message has changed though.
I have moved this report to the launcher project (MCL) now. Please update the affected version accordingly (I have chosen a random one).
Additionally if this report does not contain any sensitive information please change the "Security Level" to "None".
Note that there is the "Minecraft: Java Edition" (which you likely have for 10 years) and the "Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition" (also called "Bedrock Edition") which has to be bought separately.
I am referring to the Java edition. I put the security level high because I tried to download a new setup from the minecraft webpage but when looking upon the website it was telling me I needed to pay $35 for it. I have logged in before and never seen it ask me to pay just the option to download. When looking at my profile it only gives me the basic details of my email and username. I used to be able to see the version I have purchased. Looking into the trouble shooter for my minecraft setup I did a compatibility test and the highest my launcher is compatible with Is windows 8.
Wait I may have found the issue with the webpage. They have in tiny letter under the $35 button an option to redownload it. I am just blind as fuck. Though it would seem it has changed from a few years ago. They had it to where if you already owned it you could just click download where the pay button was. In which caused me great confusion since I haven’t needed to download the minecraft launcher. Should probably make the option to download if already owned bit bigger so it catches the eye more.
I am going to resolve this report then since you have found the download link. Though I personally agree that the changes made to the website over the years have not necessarily made things more clear.
