Whenever I hit play, it closes the launcher and doesn't load the game, not allowing me to play minecraft.

Provide launcher_log.txt and crash report
I cannot find a crash report, but i attatched the launcher_log.txt
A fix could be to uninstall and reinstall Minecraft on the alternative download or you might have an incompatible computer or too many files on it. But it may not work.

No. No error message is displayed. When I hit play, the launcher just closes

Try logging out and logging back in, to see if that fixes your issue.
Hi, according to our internal logs you managed to sign in eventually. Did you resolve this problem?
I would be very interested in knowing what you did to fix this, as it's hard to identify. It looks like either your sign-in was failing, or you had to solve additional security questions.
