Cannot Connect to multiplayer server
Whenever I try to connect to a multiplayer-server i get a loading screen for about 30 secs. Then I get an error message: "Failed to connect to server - Failed to login: The authentication are currently down for maintenance"
I have a working internet connection (I can write this
, Magic Launcher shows that Login server is available, I can also log in and download the game using the original launcher and the server gets displayed as available).
The login servers are also available, because other players can connect to the server (they're probably using Windows machines).

Please attach the complete output of the "Development console" tab of the launcher.
Is there a way to prevent it of getting closed, when I click "play"?
This is what I get get before I click it:
edit your profile and select "Launcher visibility" then, "Keep the launcher open".
Something very strange is going on here... Can't login to my atlassian account anymore...
Nevertheless, here is the full log:
A friend of mine tested connecting to the server using Linux. It worked for him.
Uninstall XercesBad idea.I can't unistall libxerces2-java, because it's a dependency of Eclipse, FreeCAD, Libreoffice, etc.
Full list of (installed) packages depending on xerces:

eclipse-platform eclipse-rse eclipse-xsd geogebra geogebra-gnome
libdom4j-java libfreehep-graphicsio-emf-java libfreehep-graphicsio-pdf-java

Out of ideas.
Tis issue has nothing to do with MCL-1672, so uninstalling xerces is a bad idea and won't help anything.

This seems to be fixed right now.
The parsing error is gone, but i still can't connect
Though I can't connect without any parsing problems I guess that this bug is not a duplicate.
This Bug https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-33228 sounds pretty similar, but Shullas workaround does not work for me.
