Quick Play selector clones some of options
Sometimes, the Quick Play selector shows more than 5 options instead of showing only most recently 5 worlds/servers.
Steps to reproduce:
1.Keep playing until you have more than 5 playing records that can be used in the Quick Play.
2.Toggle launcher's current account to another one.
3.(May needed) Play on this account so that this account can use Quick Play too.
4.Toggle the account back.
Then you will have a little chance found that the Quick Play selector shows more than 5 options.
BTW Sorry for my poor English.
Update:
It seems like that it cloned a existing option instead of showing more options that shouldn't be here.
I only have 3 options pinned and labeled title, but it shows 4 which cloned one of them.

Hi!
Can you check if this issue occurs without Mods?
Please uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.
Does pinning/changing icon/showing title initials have any input on the outcome of this issue?
Does this issue occur only when switching accounts?
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.
I totally removed all minecraft files and downloaded a new launcher copy. And only launched latest vanilla game.
Here are the results:
1.
Account 1: Quick Play Options less than 5, more than 1. (No pinned/show title)
Account 2: No Quick Play.
Result: Toggled, and nothing happened. But found another bug-like stuff: The installation "Latest" became a selectable Quick Play option and labeled with "custom". But this feature was intended to start a recently played "world" or "server" quickly and not just to start an installation.
2.
Account 1: Quick Play Options more than 5. (No pinned/show title)
Account 2: No Quick Play.
Result: Toggled, and nothing happened.
3.
Account 1: Quick Play Options more than 5. (No pinned/show title)
Account 2: Only have 1 option. (No pinned/show title)
Result: Toggled, and nothing happened.
4.
Account 1: Quick Play Options more than 5. (No pinned/show title)
Account 2: Quick Play Options less than 5, more than 1. (No pinned/show title)
Result: Toggled, and nothing happened.
5.
Account 1: Quick Play Options more than 5. (Pinned 1 of them, and also showed title)
Account 2: Quick Play Options less than 5, more than 1. (No pinned/show title)
Result: Toggled, and nothing happened.
6.
Account 1: Quick Play Options more than 5. (Pinned 3 of them, and also showed title(like what I did before))
Account 2: Quick Play Options less than 5, more than 1. (No pinned/show title)
Result: Toggled, and nothing happened.
-Then I logged in my 3rd account.
7.
Account 1: <Same as 6>
Account 2: <Same as 6>
Account 3: Nothing.
Result: <Same>
All in all, at least now I can't reproduce it again. But since I enabled this feature about 1 month ago, I only seen this bug twice (in the same day as I submitted this ticket).
Could I assume that it's a bug that occurs very randomly?
Okay that's weird.
I fully recovered my Minecraft Launcher and minecraft folder data without modified anything.
And this bug just didn't appeared anymore. Or maybe just for now.
So I just assume that it depends on your own luck to encounter this problem.
Oh BTW sorry for my poor English again.
Hi again!
Did you move files back to .minecraft folder but with mods? and still nothing happend?
Yeah, exactly.
I moved the whole minecraft folder and whole Minecraft Launcher file away and reinstalled with fresh launcher file. And the launcher generated a new minecraft folder.
After I failed to reproduce, I deleted them and just moved all of my minecraft files back to where they should be.
And guess what? None of the files were even changed but this problem doesn't appear again for now. No matter how many times I toggle my accounts.
The only thing I know is that this problem actually happened.
Allright, for now, we will close this ticket.
If anything changes, you will find a good repro steps for it, please feel free and come back and update it.
For now, closing as cannot reproduce.
Hi, this happened to me now on a fresh install (Win 11 Pro 23H2). I had Minecraft Launcher open in the background and started a few instances of different Minecraft versions and played in worlds.
In the launcher there were suddenly 7 icons in the Quick Play bar, two of them were "fake" and clones of real existing ones, identifiable by the missing tooltip when hovering over them. They remained when switching tabs within the Java Edition page, but disappeared after changing the language in the settings.
I did not pin any icon, this bar was completely untouched and unused, except that I enabled it in the experimental feature settings. I don't have exact repro steps, but the launcher_log.txt
file from when it happened.
Since that then, I reproduced this problem again.
And here are steps:
1. Open Minecraft.
2. Add lots of servers (or create lots of worlds)
3. Enter a world/server.
4. Quit the game.
5. Repeat it few times until it has 5 selections.
6. Pin some of it (suggest 3 of them).
7. Reopen Minecraft
8. Enter worlds/servers (but do not enter the worlds or servers that are pinned in the Quick Play bar)
9. Repeat it as much as possible (if you use worlds or servers that are totally not the same, then the possibility to reproduce it will increase)
10. Now unpin all of the pinned selections.
And hopefully, you will find there are more than 5 selections in the Quick Play bar.
Yep I'm tired reinstalling the launcher, but if it has to, then I will do it.

Did it occur more than once? Will you be able to reproduce it for a video?
On what language did this issue occur?

Does this occur also on Win7/8 version of the Launcher?

I only noticed it once on a new PC with a fresh installation of Windows, the Launcher and Minecraft without pre-existing files. I can't reproduce it for a video though. The session I had yesterday was over an hour long when it happened. It happened in German. I wanted to change the language to record it in English for a video, but by reloading the resources when switching languages, the bug fixed itself.
Hi again, after a long session I finally managed to reproduce it and recorded a video of what it looks like when the Quick Play selector cloned an option; nothing was pinned. Switching to the Bedrock page and back reset it and it worked normally again.
Hi again, I've now found reliable repro steps, check out the last two attached videos.

A new cloned 6th Quick Play selector option appeared.
Hi!
Does this issue still occur for anybody on the newest version of the Launcher?
Hi, I can no longer reproduce this in 2.22.14 (Win 10/11).
