Launcher does not start up correctly
When opening Minecraft Launcher, the window appears for a few seconds before closing automatically. This is likely due to an issue with some GPU process. I have tried reinstalling the Launcher, reinstalling Java, and updating my operating system.

Hi, in the video I don't see how the launcher closes automatically, only how you close it yourself manually immediately.
Your Full Problem Report.txt
does not look like an up-to-date launcher_log file and mentions something about version 1.6.2. Please attach the full launcher log found in minecraft/launcher_log.txt.
As we don't allow .pdf files and [Bot] Arisa should remove them automatically, I'll copy the information into my comment for the record.

An attachment with a disallowed file extension has been removed from this ticket.
Executable files and documents are not allowed as attachments.
Please attach crash reports, log files and screenshots as they are instead of pasting them into a document.

The full problem report was generated by my operating system, not the launcher. The launcher did not start up correctly, so it did not generate a launcher_log.txt file, hence I am not attaching anything.
I did not manually close the launcher. As you can see from the terminal output (the removed pdf file that is now located in your comment), the reason for the closing of the window is because the process crashes (apparently due to some issue with the GPU or the network).
Hi again!
So you were not able to boot Launcher even once?
Could you change in launcher_settings channel to "BETA" and try to boot it again?
Also, could you try to boot the Launcher in Offline?
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.
Correct, I was not able to boot the launcher at all.
I checked my Application Support folder and there is no minecraft folder. I think this is because the launcher has to boot successfully at least once before the folder is generated. Hence, I cannot change the launcher_settings channel.
As for "booting the launcher in Offline", I assume you mean to disable internet connection before booting the launcher (correct me if I am wrong). I have also already tried this and it does not work.
Hi again, can you see if the launcher is open in activity monitor on your mac?
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.
When viewing activity monitor and starting up the launcher, a few processes appear, but none of them are labeled as "minecraft launcher". This seems to indicate that the process never successfully launches. Please see the new screen recording attached above.
I just cleared the NVRAM on my computer by restarting it and holding down Command+Option+P+R. I had a suspicion that it had to do with the GPU storage. This actually solved the crashing. (you should put this on some help page on minecraft.net so that players know to reset their NVRAM if their launcher crashes due to the GPU process)
Just to make sure, your problem is now solved and the launcher is now working as it should?
This is a technical support issue; this site is for bug reports only. Resolved as Invalid.
The crash wasn't caused by the launcher, it was caused by your computer or GPU, so this isn't really the right place for the Minecraft Help article.
Yes, the launcher is now working properly. Thanks for your support.
Cool, and thanks for the feedback on how you fixed your issue. It's always appreciated in case this happens to someone else.
