MCL-3252Launcher gives up at downloading jars
The launcher fails at downloading jars, this is what it gave after some tries at downloading 1.8.1.jar:
[13:41:21 ERROR]: Gave up trying to download http://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.8.1/1.8.1.jar for job 'Version & Libraries'

Where do launcher logs get saved?
Nowhere , but simply restart the Launcher , after failing to download mark all the text and paste it here.
