MCL-653The new launcher does not ever load the Minecraft game to play.
Downloaded the new launcher today with no issues at the Mojang.com, Minecraft 1.6 pre-release. However when you click "play" the minecraft game never loads. In case it was a corrupt download I removed it and reinstalled with the same result. The following is a copy of what is shown in the development console, which is as far as it gets. No game screen, worlds, or anything else seen.

Downloaded the new launcher today with no issues at the Mojang.com, Minecraft 1.6 pre-release. However when you click "play" the minecraft game never loads. In case it was a corrupt download I removed it and reinstalled with the same result. The following is a copy of what is shown in the development console, which is as far as it gets. I tried the Mojang Support Center but found no answer.
Minecraft was purchased for my son only 16 days ago, and now it does not work since the new launcher.
I updated to the newest Java as suggested, removed all old versions, and let the java tester verify the new install was good,
but it did not change anything. The support center had people posting the similar problem, but I didn't find instructions for
resolution on any. Can you at least send us a link for the right area I should look?

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft / Launcher version? If so, please attach the full console output and update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.
Your Java is abcient. Please update your Java to the latest version: http://www.java.com/en/download/ . Keep in mind that when using a 32-bit browser on a 64-bit OS the automatic version detection will only show the 32-bit version of Java, the 64-bit version needs to be downloaded manually: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp .
