MCPE-156753No Editions Button On a Minecraft Playstation 4 Edition Disc
Essentially, despite owning a Minecraft Playstation 4 Edition Disc that, before it forces an update to Bedrock, boots up the earliest Legacy Console version of Minecraft PS4, when the update to bedrock finishes there is no editions button to go back. It brings up the many screenshots and explanation of what updating to bedrock adds, one screenshot even showing the editions button, but when it gets through it's explanation the button is just not there.
From what I can tell, those who bought Minecraft digitally bought the Bedrock Edition and as such are not entitled to the Legacy version, that much makes sense. However, I am using a physical copy of the Legacy version, and under that logic I instead should not be entitled to Bedrock as they're separate games. Still, I am unable to play the game that I purchased, and any attempts to get help through support either result in silence or a community member who has no control over the situation.
This would not be a problem if we were able to easily purchase the game separately so as to experience the features we lost in the switch to Bedrock, or if the game could just check what disc is in the system to know whether or not to show the button.
The other issues that I checked seemed to be related to the digital version, and them not having the button simply because they purchased Bedrock from the store following the cut off date. However, I am stressing that this is an issue of using the disc and not having a button, this issue existing for multiple updates by now and not having been fixed in any of them, yet being a very big issue as it prevents the playing of the game I actually purchased.

I am playing on the Playstation 5.

I am in great need of some Minecraft technical expertise, as unfortunately I am having extreme difficulty playing specific content on Minecraft PlayStation®4 Edition, v1.20.81 off my physical copy CUSA00265 (9440314) in both my PS4 Pro and PS5 consoles. (see attachment ‘physical_version.jpg’) I have been working over the past few months obtaining all the Trophies on the game and have reached a point where I need to used the ‘Editions’ button on the main menu of Minecraft to work through the Expansion Pack 2 and Expansion Pack 5 lists. However, after much personal troubleshooting I can not get the ‘Editions’ button to appear on my game, on my PSN account. (see attachment ‘minecraft_menu_20240510-2.jpg’)
This is concerning as I bought the physical copy I am using to play the game in 2017 before the Bedrock Edition update. I played that on my account and earned my first trophies on 13/11/2017. (see attachment ‘minecraft_trophies_20171113.jpg’). Years later however I did purchase Minecraft digitally on PS4 after the Bedrock update from the PlayStation Store on 06/06/2020 for ease of use and not having to insert the disk whenever I want to play. My big concern is that despite deleting all save files and the game itself off my PS4 and PS5 console, I am still not able to use the “Editions” button and play the minigames required to complete my trophy lists. Even though I have the correct version of Minecraft and have been playing since long before the Bedrock update.
Can you please assist me with how to move forward to play this content? Troubleshooting etc. Your help is so massively appreciated – and thank you so much for your time.

PLEASE CAN WE GET SOME ASSISTANCE ON THIS ISSUE, IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED - MANY THANKS.As an addendum to this, I have tried deactivating primary PS4 and PS5 across all the users on my systems, deleting all user saves, the game on both a PS4 Pro and PS5 Disc Edition consoles. Other users on the PlayStation are able to get the "editions" button, however my account is not. This may be because my account has the purchase of the newer Minecraft Edition digitally despite using the Pre-Bedrock physical edition. Thank you.
88 different tickets about one bug and it's been going on for years. My hope is that this volume shows that players are invested in playing content they previously had access too and importantly the ability to unlock trophies they should always have access to as they could be done locally.
