lonelyang1337 my point is the file should not overwrite anything that isn't stated the file, that's how every other file in a resource pack works. a blank player.entity.Json file shouldn't change anything.

MCPE-74493seems to imply that capes being invisible/not rendered (whether they are base game capes or not) is intended, do you not agree with that? This issue is being temporarily resolved as Awaiting Response. [Mod] Jarl-Penguin I've been using resource packs that allow you to see chunk borders by holding a firework in your off hand, no matter what I do to it, if it has a player.Entity.Json file capes will not be usable. It didn't seem intended that if you have a player.Entity.Json file in your resource pack at all it would be impossible to use a Cape, even if the file explicitly tells it to render one. apologies if this is an intended feature. I would love to be able to use resource packs and the Cape at the same time since most resource packs use a player.Entity.Json file. i think it only should make changes to the cape if those fields are specified, not just make capes impossible. Personally I think it is definitely a bug. I would just like someone to look a little bit deeper into it because a lot of people seem to be having this problem.
Solved with a single line of code
lonelyang1337 can you provide the line of code or the player.entity.Json file? my point is the file should not overwrite anything that isn't stated the file, that's how every other file in a resource pack works. a blank player.entity.Json file shouldn't change anything.
