When placing bone meal on the ground, there is flowers at the end usually. But when you try to grab them, they disappear !

Confirmed on Windows 10 version 1.2.3.6.
It happens in creative or survival mode. It seems to happen randomly for each block, so that you can successfully mine some items while others just disappear when you try.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Apply bone meal to an area of grass.
2. Break each flower, fern, or tall grass that was spawned one at a time.
3. Observe that some of them simply disappear, with no breaking sound.
I have modified the title to reflect that it affects tall grass and ferns as well as flowers.
