Food cannot be enchanted. Only armor, weapons, tools, and certain equipment items including the fishing rod, shears, flint and steel, elytra, and carrot on a stick can be enchanted. If you were trying to enchant one of these items, please say which item and enchantment you were using and what, if anything, appeared in the anvil output slot.
You can still attach the enchantment on Java edition by a item generator
