Gravity blocks will have their textures randomly rotated when falling
The Bug
When falling, the texture of a gravity block will rotated back to its default orientation. When it lands, it'll be rotated once again (only if the block supports random rotation)
Steps to reproduce
- Place a sand block on a non gravity block
- Destroy the block and let the sand fall

Block rotation is based on the location and falling blocks use the default orientation
@Kyle morley fixed it
It seems 1.8 broke falling blocks. Previously they'd instantly fall after losing support but now they teleport slightly upwards before falling. Not a visual bug, as my contraptions that relied on the precise timing of falling blocks are now broken
Falling sand and sand are two different things, and the bug is for falling sand. Does gravel work?
Gravel doesn't randomly rotate. So the bug doesn't affect it. Blocks affected by this: falling sand, falling concrete powder and any gravity block that randomly rotates
They fixed the "teleportation" bug for the falling entities
