This is very true, and gets a bit on my nerves. Let’s hope they fix this someday!

Nintendo switch has a lot of bugs that I cant even name
I can confirm this is an issue as well. Perhaps playing on a Realm is a workaround for that particular issue since you connect to Mojang Servers instead of a player host.
How about tossing us some Minecoins for a free server until it is resolved, Mojang?!
