Well....why would you have a diamond ore anyway? That's impossible unless in creative to obtain it and in creative it is impossible to use furnaces. In survival, you need a silk touch pickaxe which has not been implemented in MCPE....the is no enchanting.
Not a bug, per comment above. You can't get yourself into this situation using only vanilla software. This might make a valid feature request, not sure.
Please don't mark tickets as affecting unreleased versions. Changing affected version from 0.5.1 to 0.5.0.
