If one looks at fire/ice/water/lava from a large distance (but not too far), lava and fire can turn black/purple, water tuns clear/pale yellow, and ice is blurred and lighter.

Or even better, you should be able to dye it any color. Like minecraft would just take the white wool and use that and a custom color like how the biome colors work. and mixing the dyes could give you an in between color, like dark red from red and black. Or a very light blue from 3 bone meals and one lapis.

The yellow water was not from an edited swamp biome water color, btw
Also the effect is not seen when i am close to the specified blocks or past a certain distance away.
Its not night vision potion or fast graphics, i tested it with out and i had the same result.
The solution is if you use mcpatcher, turn off mipmapping
Try placing 100ish or more tnt carts on a single rail, then push them off while flying or jumping (for vertical acceleration).
I hope this gets removed soon
