Steps to reproduce
1. Select a resource pack with custom model for farmland
2. /fill ~ ~ ~ ~30 ~ ~30 farmland 7
3. Place crops & enjoy lagging

This is up to your PC.
Every item that you drop will first be rendered as stone, but then it realises it isn't stone so it changes to the item it has to be.
The time it takes to change to the good item depends on your video card speed.

Stop your server
remove all the data from the player directory if there is
copy all the data from the playerdata folder to the player folder
rename everything like this

start server

@karst if you know everything better, (betterknower #dutch lol) write a simple program that does this for you.
Searge, I already said this.
However, on a restart of the server the data will get lost again.
All the files in the players folder wil be moved.
I know that, but they shpuld fox that.
I think this should be fixed. Minecraft is not realistic, of course, but that can't mean it shouldn't try to be it as much as possible in Minecraft style.

So this means that if someone has a spawnpoint somewhere, you can troll him and put a pressureplate over there...

Re-download the launcher from www.minecraft.net/download
If that doesn't work, try to remove all the installed Minecraft versions from the "%appdata%\.minecraft\versions" folder.
1. Download the latest version of the launcher from www.minecraft.net/download
2. If 1 didn't work, try to re-install Java from www.java.com
Try to clear the versions folder
And also, if you don't use the original launcher, you won't get help here.
This is a feature, not a bug.
