My window is not tiny as in MC-7707.
There is plenty of room to display everything and it used to be displayed correctly in previous minecraft versions. (not sure when it stopped working. I haven't played in a while)

All information the devs need has been provided.
First of all, you can't do a debug crash when you're in a menu.
And second, as I said before, everything needed has been provided. I could provide thread or heap dumps, but none of that is of any use here.
You're right. After a few more searches, I found MC-37839. I'll add my findings to that issue. This one can be closed.
This problem also occurs in the controls menu. And it's still around in Minecraft 1.8.1-pre4. See also MC-74172.
