Added Description:
This bug was found on a multiplayer server being used to replace Bedrock, and was replicated also in single player. The screenshots were taken in Single Player 1.7.4 and can be used to replicate the bug.
This is unintended as trees are only supposed to be able to replace air/leaves

If you don't mind me asking, is this a duplicate of an issue not visible because I was sure to search extensively before posting this bug, unless my search was to specific of involving Dark Oak trees?
nvm....
Should be noted. That when the player inserts the item into the item frame, the item frame is considered 'dead'. Which is why the item does not get ejected.
This is probably useful information for the resolution of this issue.
Ugh, My bad. Searched under the 'Open' status. Which excluded 'Reopened' tickets. Thought it was strange it hadn't been reported.
I should add on. This issue would include older registrations such as in Schema version 99 or 705. But I am not sure when the "Item" field was added. So it may not go back that far.
I have wrote a patch for a suggested simple change to fix the issue.
This patch is built on Spigot mappings. Hope it is helpful.

Well. That'll just have to be a decision that Mojang decides on.
In regards to how negative they want demand to go. It is my opinion that it shouldn't go negative at all. The demand appears to be updated quite frequently, and the current formula makes it unlikely to stay positive for more than one in-game day.
(Negative values do nothing).
