player 1 is ok but since we play together. My player number 2 without ps plus doesn’t have cloud access so data is not saved via ps plus.

ive lost my character twice. And ready to stop playing until it is fixed. I was all ready to get the DLC in December but what’s the point? The November update wiped out my character 🤣😱🙁😂
Ok tried many things.
when I log in as me (second ID no ps plus account) and I go to data management, minecraft dungeons to save character data. I am there. So I save it to USB.
Then the update of MCD November 2020 and my character is gone. I restore my character back onto MCD from USB. 🙁😔 no luck I’m not there. But I know the data is there. And the options available are player 1’s character. Player 1 is still there.
If I log in as player 2 and enter MCD the game complains I need to purchase it. So my family sharing doesn’t exist on this game. Now my question is if I purchased the game for player 2 would it recognize my character now? I haven’t tried as the issue to me is 1. It will download onto the ps4 and overwrite the current game
2. I can restore from backup to get the old version back. However, will MCD recognize that both player 1 & 2 have bought a copy of the game and connect to both players?
I haven’t tried this yet as it as been time consuming plus extra expense and unsure if it will work. I will report back if I do try this
So I figured out that we did not have the ps4 account linked/activated to the ps4. In doing so. We were able to access the program via player 2. However in 2 player offline play, if player 1 started MCD, we only had the option of player 1’s character.
When player 2 started MCD, WE ONLY HAD ACCESS TO MY NO LONGER LOST CHARACTER!!
Fixed? Nope
Still need to be able to have player 1 login choose his skin and then have player 2 join (me) and FIND MY SKIN THERE! It’s not

Hello I’ve a similar issue which I’ve written elsewhere but I don’t think it hurts to repeat myself as I don’t know if Mojang is reading these even.
So after November MCD update, I lost access to my character player 2.
We login psn player 1. Select my dons character. We login player 2 psn and join the game. So there are 2 PlayStation accounts. Player 1 has ps plus. Player 2 does not.
What I managed to do was discover that player 2’s character data is there but not listed I backed up to USB (after I logged in solely as player 2).
Log back in as player 1. Upload the character. Enter MCD and 🙁🙃still not there. We experiment, player 2 starts up MCD, voila my character is there but NOW PLAYER 1 CANT CHOOSE HIS CHARACTER!
I was gonna try the file copy thing next but discouraged from your message about ps4 not recognizing the file.
So it makes no sense to me at all.

Honestly I thought once I reinserted my character it would be found which it is! But there is no logic to this since I am logging in both accounts. The system overrides based on who initiated MCD and limits characters based on this. This is BUG PLEASE FIX THIS.
Yes I read it. Thank you! It is the issue. I’ve done a zillion things to get to this point, but 😂can’t get player’s character to show up in coop play. So yes same issue
Yes I was pointed to this thread as we have the same issues. Whoever initiates game gets their skin only. Player 2 can’t see their character. But if they log in, the character is there. Yes we play 99% coop local play so waiting for this fix.
Ok my kid just told me if he logs in his skin is there but when I log in I’m back at level1 and I don’t get the option of choosing his character. He hasn’t cloned himself so maybe that’s when I could choose his character?
So I’m not sure if this bug is slightly different but like I’ve said if I log in my skin is listed but then if he player 2, he’s back at level 1. But no access to my character

I have suggestions for others cause I did a bunch of things in order to see my character. You need to get to the point that if you log in with your psn id and see your character and second player does the same and sees their character, then the 1.09 fix will work.
Before I had issues logging in and finding my character. So log in and look under character data. I found my character was there (can tell by level) so I backed up to USB to make sure I wouldn’t lose my skin.
Then I had primary ID ps plus logged in, their skin was there but mine wasn’t (before 1.09). So I uploaded my character. Still couldn’t find my character if ps plus acct logs in. As second player I couldn’t play MCD, so I had to activate my psn ID to the console. And make sure ps plus ID is activated to ps4. Then I could open MCD, and if logged in, my character was found. This was a victory for me cause I knew my character wasn’t lost. I think your character is there but google character save to USB. And make sure you log in as the person with the missing character.

I forgot to mention that the psn accounts need to be part of the family set up. Once that is done then second player can play MCD on their own. Now that is not how I am playing but as I said if you do this, then you can save player 2’s character to USB cause ps4 only saves ps plus character.
I’ve lost my character before and we had to play for a while to bring me back up to level. And this was my second time losing my character but I really did look into everything I could to solve this. And luckily I found my player was on the PS4 drive but somehow not accessible. So if you can play a second player coop offline play, I suggest doing this and rebuild. I wasn’t happy about it but I’m ok now. I have my binders gauntlet again. My armor isn’t quite the same but I will do back ups every so often to make sure my character is saved. It’s sucky that ps4 doesn’t save other characters except the psn plus accounts. And that is Not entirely a Mojang issue!
