[UPDATE] WORKAROUND: AssistiveTouch must be enabled for the mouse to work in iOS 17.
I haven’t used a Bluetooth mouse/keyboard to play Minecraft on my iPhone in months. Not since like 1.19.5. But today I decided I wanted to play Minecraft Bedrock again, and since my Windows laptop has now become a glorified paperweight, I have to use my iPhone to do so, since I don’t have an iPad or a Mac with Apple Silicon. But when I opened the world, my Bluetooth mouse does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. It used to work perfectly fine (at least for movement, attacking/breaking, placing, interacting, etc.). It never worked in the menus but now is completely unresponsive in-game. I’m really frustrated because I absolutely hate using touch controls on Minecraft, and now it doesn’t seem to recognize my Bluetooth mouse anymore. I have no idea if it has to do with some weird change in iOS 17 that wasn’t in iOS 16 or maybe something broke since the release of 1.20. I just want to use my mouse again

I’ve been noticing this for a while now. For some reason, beetroot does not make the planting sounds like other crops do. Instead, it just sounds like wood, both planting and breaking. This also happens with planting/breaking seeds for pumpkins and melons.
I attached some examples. The first shows the beetroot, and the second shows an example of what crops are supposed to sound like.
OBSERVED BEHAVIOR:
Using wood sounds instead of the planting sounds, sounding really out of place
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
Planting/breaking for beetroot, melon, and pumpkin uses the proper sounds for crops, like Java Edition.
I almost completely forgot about this bug I posted, I did find the solution.
For some reason, something changed in iOS 17 that broke the built-in support for mouse, but AssistiveTouch has to be enabled for it to work. It would be nice though if this was resolved, because I would very much like to not have to turn on and off AssistiveTouch all the time, especially since a lot of iPhone users might not know how to do that anyway.
Still not working on 1.20.72. For iOS 17 users, I believe the mouse doesn't work at all unless you have AssistiveTouch enabled on iOS. I haven't been able to get it to work without Perform Touch Controls turned on otherwise.
This appears to be more of a mod-related bug than related to a bug in Minecraft. I would report this issue to whoever made the mod, the Mojang Bug Tracker is for reporting bugs that have to do with their game and what they made. I think if it’s something that affects all mods and it’s not just a “the mods haven’t updated to fix the new standards yet” problem than it would be a Mojang problem if it’s an issue with Minecraft where it creates unintended issues with mods that aren’t supposed to happen. This seems to be more on the side of Mojang made changes, so the mod developer needs to update the mod to align with the new structure.
