Having MIPMAP setting at 4 (default setting) and taking items like torch or a sapling causes problems with textures - I've read few topics at forums (transparent blocks / glitchy colors ect).

Turning OFF mipmap settings resolves the problem.

My Radeon HD 4800 drivers are said to be up-to-date with Catalyst 13.1
Guess it won't work with the older cards like mine.
Good I simply can turn mipmapping in MC off...
I just checked - after moving back to 1.7.5 I see mine and my daughter's skins.
1.7.7 doesn't show them at all - Stevo all the way...
I remember reading something about new skin format... ?
Build 1.3.2.0_4307136 on Win10 (Win7/Win8/Win10 game version)
RTX 2060
Had the very same issue today after I got back to playing when the DLC got released.
With the usual settings I used before I got under 20 FPS = unplayable.
I noticed though I got a graphics card driver update to download. Everything went back to normal after the driver update (90-170 FPS while in game with/without mobs on screen - full graphics).
