Happens also with signs, command blocks and structure blocks.
In Java Edition, redstone directs/points into a target block and powers the block.
In Bedrock Edition, redstone directs/points into the target block, but does not power the block.
So in Bedrock, this is one of the few blocks that can redirect redstone but doesn't do anything.

I think this is Works as Intended, because bees are stored in the bee nests/hives as NBT data, not as an entity.
